A place to talk, without anyone needing to know who you are

Everyone has moments when they want to talk to someone: to tell them about their day, ask for an opinion, or simply feel less alone. But it isn't always easy to open up to people you know. Người Lạ Ơi (“Hey, Stranger!” in Vietnamese) gives you a place to talk without worrying about being judged.

Our principles

• Anonymity first. We don't ask for your real name, phone number or email. You only choose your gender, year of birth and area so we can match you with people who fit.
• Privacy by design, not just by promise. Messages are end-to-end encrypted: our servers pass them along but can't read them. Once both people leave a chat, its messages are deleted.
• Real people, real conversations. We never use chatbots pretending to be strangers, and we block automated accounts that spam users.
• You can always leave. If it doesn't click, just leave; that person won't be randomly matched with you again. If someone behaves badly, report them and we'll review it within 24 hours.

You can use Người Lạ Ơi right in your browser at nguoila.io, or download the app for iPhone and Android. Everyone is matched together, whether they use the website or the app.
